Interview

REAL ESTATE INTERNSHIP—2005

THE INTERVIEW

Exactly who are we looking to become interns this summer?

Space is limited and interest is high, so we need to be very clear about our expectations.

We are NOT looking for people who want a summer job. The pay is not that much anyway. Instead we are looking for people who are seriously open (or already committed) to become full-time real estate investors as a lifetime vocation.

For the right people this is truly a “one-of-a-kind opportunity” to learn about real estate investing from the inside out. But please evaluate whether you are ready for it this experience this summer or not. (We will likely do it again next summer.)

If you believe you are ready to pour your heart and soul into this hands-on experience, what follows are instructions for applying for an internship position.

Become thoroughly familiar with this website, particularly Stewardship’s Mission Statement     as well as the Home Vestors’ website as a comparison model. Feel free to write any response or
comments about it. You will be asked about it in your interview.

Read the following PDF written by a well-known real estate guru and write a response. (If you
are too busy with homework to give this adequate attention, let Bill know and he will work out
    something with you.)

There is lots of helpful information in this book. But Bill would also like to introduce you to “Mr. Real Estate Anti-Guru,” John Reed. In Bill’s opinion, John Reed is too negative toward some “real estate gurus,” but he also has a sobering perspective on the business. Take a look at his informative website at www.johntreed.com/Reedgururating.html.

Write a “Life Resume” and include the following:

Your most important life experiences that have shaped who you are

Your most important work experiences (could have been within your family)

Your most important mentor(s) and how they have helped shape you in any area of life

Why you’d like to be considered for this opportunity

What you think you have to offer this summer’s team of interns

Feel free to add any additional information that you think would help us to understand you and your
  goals for the future.

What questions do you have for us?

Meet with Bill (and a few others) for an interview. Please bring a copy of your Life Resume
and Real Estate Notes on one of the books you read with you. If you have time you can email
these items as Microsoft Word attachments to Bill ahead of time.

Please contact Bill as soon as you are ready for an interview. All interviews should be completed by May 31st. Time, however, is of the essence and the sooner you initiate your interview, the more likely you will be considered for an intern position.

If you have any questions, or want to pursue an intern position this summer, email or call Bill.
Bill’s email address is: bsyrios@hotmail.com and his phone # is 221-4242.
